Privacy policy

  1. Purpose

Nordac Inc. (hereinafter “Nordac”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy (hereinafter the “Policy”) explains how and why we collect, use and share the personal information entrusted to us. This Policy generally applies to the personal information we collect when you interact with us (for example, when you visit our website, communicate with us via social media or email, or apply for a job at Nordac). It may also apply to personal information we receive from our customers, contractors, and partners.

In this Policy, “personal information” refers to any information that relates to an individual that, alone or in combination with other data, allows that person to be identified. This may include information such as your name, contact details, and date of birth.   • Employment-related information, such as your work experience and education (including educational background, university program, and graduation year), area of specialization (including training cards), competency certificates issued by the Commission de la Construction du Québec (hereinafter the “CCQ”), work schedule, employment status, and work or residency permits. This also includes emergency contacts, medical information, and data related to workplace accidents.
  • Biometric information, including your gender identity and preferred pronouns.
  • Video images and photographs, including those taken by video cameras, surveillance systems, or cameras.
  • Online activity information, including IP addresses, sections of our website visited, and language preferences. We may collect this data from website visitors through cookies and similar technologies.
  1. How we collect your personal information

We may collect your personal information in a variety of ways, including:

  • Directly from you. We may collect personal information directly from you in certain circumstances—for example, if you contact us (by email, social media, etc.), apply for a job at Nordac (including through job search websites and/or a third party), visit our offices, meet a Nordac representative at a business conference or event, or through your interactions or business relationship with Nordac.
  • Through our customers and partners. If you are an employee of a Nordac customer or partner, your employer may provide us with personal information about you, to the extent that it is relevant to the business relationship between Nordac and your employer.
  • Through the technologies used on our website. Nordac may collect certain types of information when you browse our website.
  1. Use of your personal information

We may use your personal information for the following purposes:

  • Providing our services. We use the personal information necessary to deliver our services. For example, we may need to use your personal information to manage Nordac’s business relationships during the course of a project.
  • Communicating with you. If you contact us with a question or request information about our services, we may use your personal information to respond to you. We may also contact you for business development purposes to promote our services and offers.
  • Processing job applications. If you apply for a position at Nordac, we may use your personal information to process and evaluate your application and to provide you with updates on your application. For example, we use it to comply with our health and safety obligations or in the event of an accident and to manage construction projects. We may also use this information for statistical and internal analysis purposes.
  • Managing our website. We use the information collected from website visitors to manage and improve our site.
  • Other purposes permitted or required by law. The information we collect may be used to protect the security of our data and website or to comply with legal requirements, as applicable.

Where required, we may also ask for your consent to use your personal information for purposes other than those listed above.

  1. Sharing your personal information

We may share your personal information as follows:

  • With our affiliates. Nordac may share your personal information with its affiliates for the purposes described in this Policy, including to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and requirements, and to ensure your information is up to date, accurate, and complete before processing it, where applicable.
  • With our service providers. We may transfer your personal information to other organizations and companies that provide services to us (such as backup and server hosting providers, IT software and maintenance providers, health and safety providers, providers involved in recruitment and the management of job applications and career opportunities, or other technology providers). We require these service providers to protect your personal information with adequate security measures and to limit their use of this information to what is necessary to perform their service contract.
  • In connection with a sale, transfer, or other business transaction. We may decide to sell or transfer all or part of our business to a third party, merge with another entity, secure our assets, or proceed with any other financing or strategic capital transaction (including insolvency or bankruptcy proceedings), restructuring, share sale, or any other change in corporate control. By using our services or interacting with us (whether by visiting our website, communicating with us by email or social media, applying for a job at Nordac, working as a subcontractor, or visiting one of our worksites), you consent to the collection, use, sharing, and retention of your personal information in accordance with this Policy. In some cases, your consent may be implied at the time your personal information is collected, used, or shared. Generally, we will seek your express consent if we intend to use your personal information for purposes other than those set out in this Policy or the terms and conditions of a specific service you have requested, in compliance with applicable privacy laws. You may withdraw your consent to Nordac’s use and sharing of your personal information, subject to legal and contractual obligations, by providing us with reasonable notice. To do so, please submit a written request using the contact details provided in Section 13 (Contact us) of this Policy. Please note that withdrawing your consent may limit our ability to provide certain services to you and/or your employer, or to continue communications regarding to a job application you have submitted with us.

To protect the confidentiality of your personal information, we use administrative, physical, and technological safeguards to prevent unauthorized access, use, or disclosure of the personal information, as well as the loss or breach of such information. We also apply these safeguards when destroying your personal information.

  1. Retention of your personal information

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our services, manage our business, and comply with our legal and regulatory obligations. When no longer required, your personal information is securely destroyed

  1. Accessing and correcting your personal information

Nordac respects your right to access your personal information, to request its transfer (portability), and to request its rectification if it is inaccurate, incomplete, or ambiguous, subject to applicable legal restrictions.   1. Changes to the Policy

We may make changes to this Policy from time to time. Any changes we make take effect when we post the revised Policy on our websites. If we make material changes to the Policy, we will post a notice on our websites or contact you to inform you, where required by law. By continuing to interact with us after the modified version of the Policy has been posted, you accept the changes made, subject to any additional requirements that may apply.
